Isla de la Plata

La Isla de la Plata is definitely the main attraction of the park and is an important feeding ground for many species of birds. These include pelicans, boobies and frigates and protect the only known population of waved albatross. In addition, the humpback whale has its breeding area within the park and around the island. This route has the best chance to observe dolphins and whales at close range above, but this time, we saw only the back of one.

When we approached the big island, we saw hundreds of birds flitting around, giving us tangible signs of a vibrant corner and surrounded by a sea blue

The island offers two routes or hiking trails, both with spectacular views and bird diversity: Punta Machete right and left Punta Escalera. We chose to Punta Machete has a total of 3km and covers approximately 3 hours.
